2025 NCAA Men's Basketball Championship Current Futures
It is officially March! That means March Madness will soon be here! The 2025 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament Field of 68 will be unveiled on Selection Sunday March 17th 2025. The futures odds to win the men's college basketball 2025 championship have changed throughout the season. However, there is less odds movement now that we are almost near one of the best sports times of the year.
Everyone knows by now what happened to Duke's Zion Williamson. His shoe blew out and he sprained his knee mere seconds into a critical game against their hated rival the North Carolina Tar Heels. The oddsmakers at Caesars Palace instantly lengthened Duke's odds to win the national championship from +200 to +250. The odds translation means for every dollar you put down you would get 2.50 back if they win. Other odds makers at casino sports books followed suit. Duke is incredibly deep even without high flying dunker Zion. RJ Barrett and Cam Reddish average 23 and 14 points per game respectively. Duke is projected to have three of the top 5 players in the 2025 NBA draft selected. That has never happened before. Duke's Coach K has guided his program to five national championships. This is arguably his most talented team and Zion Williamson will eventually be coming back.
The Gonzaga Bull Dogs are the team that has the second best odds to win the national championship according to Vegas and the oddsmakers. Gonzaga is led by Rui Hachimura. The Japanese Junior has been tearing it up for the Bulldogs with 20 points a game. Josh Perkins and Brendan Clarke have chipped in also with 11 and 16 points per game. Gonzaga has a win over Duke back in an early season Maui tournament. They lost by three points to the Tenn U Volunteers and lost to North Carolina. They recently finished a perfect streak through the West Coast Conference. Their record stands at 29-2 entering into the conference tournament which they will most likely win. Bracketologists like ESPN's Joe Lunardi have Gonzaga as a 1 seed. They made it all the way to the 2017 National Championship game. This year they have an excellent shot of going back to the Final 4 and perhaps winning it all.
Tony Bennett's Virginia Cavaliers are known for their stifling defense. They are number one in this statistical category. They hold their opponents to 54 points a game. The Cavaliers lost to 16 seed UMBC last year and are out to prove their critics wrong in 2025. Their odds stand at about 13/2.
Kentucky, North Carolina, Michigan State, Tennessee and Michigan all have similar odds ranging from 8/1 to 15/1. Frankly, there is some great value in this group. Three of the five have coaches that have won it all with Tennessee's Rick Barnes and Michigan's coach being the only ones who hasn't yet. A serious case could be made for all five being legit Final 4 or national championship contenders.
Some people like to bet on long shots due to the value. Or maybe that's the college they went to and they want to add some excitement to rooting for their team. There are a bunch of teams listed going from 25/1 all the way up to 500/1 or so.
