March is known as March Madness. This is the culmination of the college basketball regular season. A field of 68 teams is selected for the right to compete for the NCAA Men's Basketball National Championship. Certain teams make the tournament year after year. These heavyweights compete for Final 4s and National Championships. Kentucky is one of these teams that is usually in the mix. Their Head Coach John Calipari is known for his innovative dribble drive offense. He is also known for his prowess at recruiting and player development. Some of the players who have gone to the NBA after playing at Kentucky include Washington Wizards star John Wall, New Orleans Pelicans big man Anthony Davis and Minnesota's Karl Anthony Towns. Kentucky is second in all time championships with 8 to UCLA's 11. Another prominent coach that comes to mind is Duke's Coach K. This is a man who has over 1,000 wins to his name and five championships.

One of the fun things about March Madness is that there are always upsets. This means that a lower seeded team beats a higher seeded team. One of the most famous was 2006's George Mason Patriots over UConn. Mason was an 11 seed and UConn was a 1 seed. A 16 seed had never beaten a top seed prior to 2018. The University of Maryland Baltimore County made history when they dispatched Virginia in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

Sportsbooks put futures odds on potential NCAA tournament champions. You can put your prognostication powers to the test by betting on the team you think will cut down the nets in April.
